Replacing your Roof Before Winter
Now that November is here, you may be getting ready to decorate your home for the holidays, or, maybe you already have! Before you start thinking about gifts, snow, hot coco, treats and sparkling lights, you may want to take a look at your roof.
Your roof may need to be reinforced, re shingled or even have new flashing installed before the snow comes. It is important to strengthen your roof before any potential damages can occur.
It can be hard to tell if your roof needs to be re-shingled. A clear sign would be asphalt granules in the eavestrough. Torn and missing shingles are most common and if you see buckling you may need to call asap as your roof be need to be reinforced. A roof’s underlayment is the best option and may be all you need when repairing your home. Protect your roof from ice dams that can build up along your roof’s edge. It will also act as a barrier against water that may penetrate the shingles.
If you are looking for a permanent solution, we do recommend a Metal Roof. They last about 50 years, are environmentally friendly and fire-resistant.
There are different styles and colours of material. All are great options if you plan on living in your home for more than 15 years.
